Norman Teeling stands as one of Ireland’s most accomplished impressionist painters, representing a unique bridge between traditional Irish artistic heritage and contemporary international plein air painting movements. Born in Dublin in 1944, Teeling has spent over five decades developing a distinctive artistic voice that captures the romantic essence of Irish landscapes.
Educated at the National College of Art and Design Dublin’s School of Fine Art, Teeling studied under distinguished Irish masters, including Maurice MacGonigal P.P.R.H.A and John Kelly RHA. His artistic philosophy centers on “the elevation of the spirit and the celebration of life,” seeking to transport viewers from the mundane into a world of romantic beauty.
After a successful career in animation that took him internationally, including work with Don Bluth Studios and projects in Norway, Germany, and Italy, Teeling returned to fine art with enhanced skills and broader perspective.
